The 2027 World Scout Jamboree

The World Scout Jamboree, often likened to the Olympics, is the largest scout camp in the world. Conceived by Robert Baden-Powell, the visionary founder of the scouting movement, this extraordinary event brings together scouts aged 14-17 from around the globe. Held once every four years, the Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Beyond offering an unforgettable adventure in an international setting, it provides an invaluable opportunity to immerse oneself in the culture, history, and daily life of the host country while proudly showcasing the heritage of your own homeland.

On 29 August 2021, the World Organisation of the Scout Movement approved the application from the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP) and the City of Gdańsk to host the World Scout Jamboree in 2027. This momentous decision will bring together 50,000 scouts and guides from across the world, along with a distinguished group of international guests, to Sobieszewo Island in August 2027.

The Social Programme for the Development of Sobieszewo Island continues in alignment with the ongoing preparations for the World Jamboree 2027 (details available at: https://www.jamboree2027.org).

The upcoming 2023 World Scout Jamboree will be hosted in South Korea. The ZHP delegation, comprising over 550 members, will actively promote and extend invitations to the worldwide scouting community for the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk, set to unfold on Sobieszewo Island. During the event in Korea, participants from every corner of the world will have the opportunity to explore the Poland tent, where they can gain insights into Gdańsk and learn about the exciting programme being prepared by the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. In essence, they will catch a glimpse of the remarkable experiences that await them in Poland in 2027. The venue will be open not only to Jamboree participants but also to the many visitors attending the event.

A significant moment will occur during the closing ceremony of the Jamboree in Korea when the Polish Scouting Association officially receives the flag that has been crossing countries and continents as the symbolic “baton” in the Jamboree relay. All eyes will then be on Poland and ZHP, with anticipation building until the commencement of the Jamboree itself in 2027.
